Brief Career History – Umar Bashir
Umar Bashir began his professional journey in 2006 with Skyway Aviation Handling Company PLC (SAHCO PLC) as a Management Trainee, where he gained foundational exposure to key financial and operational processes. He advanced to the role of Cashier, handling day-to-day cash management and transactional activities.
He later became a Station Accountant, overseeing branch-level financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance functions within SAHCO PLC. His strong analytical skills and commitment to robust financial controls earned him elevation to Assistant Manager, Internal Control, and subsequently Senior Manager, Internal Control, where he supervised internal audits, risk management, and process improvements across the organization.
A certified professional accountant since 2009, Umar’s dedication, expertise, and leadership were further recognized with his appointment as Head, Accounts of SAHCO PLC, where he presently leads the company’s accounting operations, financial reporting, treasury functions, and cost management
